1. About AWRSCheck
AWRSCheck (“the Service”) is operated by Kitti Papp, a sole proprietorship (egyéni vállalkozó) registered in Hungary (“the Operator”, “we”, “us”). The Service provides automated verification of supplier registrations under the UK Alcohol Wholesaler Registration Scheme (AWRS) and stores the resulting records on behalf of users.
Business details:
- Operator: Kitti Papp
- Registered address: Balassi Balint utca 2, Sárospatak, 3950, Hungary
- Tax number: 92197055-1-25
- Email: hello@awrscheck.co.uk
By accessing or using AWRSCheck, you (“the User”) agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
2. Nature of the Service
AWRSCheck retrieves publicly available data from HMRC’s online AWRS register and presents it to the User in a convenient format. The Service is a tool to assist with record-keeping — it is not a legal service, accountancy service, or compliance consultancy.
Verification results reflect the state of HMRC’s register at the time of the query. The Operator has no control over the accuracy, completeness, or availability of HMRC’s data and cannot guarantee that results are current, error-free, or complete.
The Operator does not independently verify the data returned by HMRC’s register — the Service relays the result as-is. Any documents generated by the Service, including PDF verification records, are records of queries made to HMRC’s public register. They are not issued, endorsed, or approved by HMRC, and the Operator does not represent or guarantee that any such document will be accepted by HMRC or any other authority as satisfying any particular regulatory requirement.
3. No Legal or Compliance Advice
Nothing in the Service or these Terms constitutes legal, regulatory, or compliance advice. Users are solely responsible for understanding their obligations under HMRC’s AWRS regulations and for ensuring their own compliance. The Operator strongly recommends that Users seek independent legal or professional advice where required.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from:
- Use of or inability to use the Service
- Reliance on verification results obtained through the Service
- Any penalty, fine, prosecution, or regulatory action taken against the User by HMRC or any other authority
- Inaccuracy, incompleteness, or unavailability of data from HMRC's register
- Loss or corruption of data
- Interruption or suspension of the Service
- Any third-party conduct or content
- Any claim that documents generated by the Service constitute official HMRC records or satisfy any specific regulatory requirement
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, the Operator’s total aggregate liability to the User for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by the User to the Operator in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
5. No Warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The Operator does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
6. User Responsibilities
Users are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring the accuracy of URNs and other data they submit to the Service
- Maintaining their own compliance with AWRS regulations and any applicable UK law
- Keeping their account credentials secure and confidential
- Deciding whether to rely on verification results for any commercial or regulatory purpose
- Maintaining adequate records in accordance with HMRC requirements
7. Data Storage and Retention
AWRSCheck stores verification records, including timestamps and status results, on behalf of the User to support their record-keeping. The Operator applies reasonable technical measures to protect stored data but cannot guarantee absolute security. Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
Users are responsible for maintaining their own backup copies of compliance records. The Operator shall not be liable for any loss of data howsoever caused.
The Operator may access a User’s account solely for the purpose of diagnosing technical issues or providing support, where necessary to maintain the integrity or availability of the Service. Such access is limited to the Operator and is not shared with any third party.
8. Subscription, Billing, and Cancellation
A free account is available with no payment details required. Paid plans (“Pro”) are provided on a subscription basis at the rates displayed at the time of sign-up. Paid subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Users may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, after which no further payments are taken.
The Operator reserves the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
9. Refunds and Cancellation Rights
14-day refund guarantee. If you are not satisfied, you may request a full refund of your first payment on a paid plan within 14 days of that payment by emailing hello@awrscheck.co.uk. We will refund it in full to your original payment method.
After the 14-day period, payments already made (including automatic renewals) are non-refundable, but you can cancel at any time to prevent future charges — see Section 8. Where you are a consumer, this policy is offered in addition to, and does not affect, any statutory cancellation or refund rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.
10. Acceptable Use
Users must not:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate access to the Service beyond its intended use
- Use the Service to harass, harm, or deceive any third party
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls, or security measures
11. Suspension and Termination
The Operator reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, where the User breaches these Terms, or where it is necessary to protect the integrity, security, or availability of the Service.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hungary. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hungary, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection provisions that may apply in the User’s country of residence.
13. Changes to These Terms
The Operator may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The date at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last updated.
